Improving Your Fertility Naturally

When you start trying for a baby, it can be very frustrating if things don’t happen straight away. There are lots of positive improvements you and your partner can make to your health, lifestyle and mindset to improve your chances of getting pregnant naturally.

1. Track your fertile window

Most women have a fertile window of about 6 days during their cycle. By learning how to find your fertile window, you can make sure you are having sex at the right time. Tracking your temperature, cervical fluids and the position of your cervix will all help you calculate the best time to try and get pregnant.

2. Take a good quality multi-vitamin

Most people, even with healthy diets, lack specific vitamins and minerals. This is due to a lack of variety in your diet and having stressful lives, which depletes your resources of essential nutrients. By ensuring both you and your partner take a good quality multi-vitamin each day, you can fill in any nutritional deficiencies you may have, improving the quality of your eggs and sperm.

3. Look at your diet

Making small tweaks to your diet can have a massive impact on your health and baby making abilities. Some easy changes to look at are:
– Ensure you’re having good sources of protein with every meal.
– Decrease the amount of caffeine, alcohol and sugar in your diet.
– Try to incorporate a rainbow of fruit and vegetables in your diet everyday.

4.  Reduce stress

It is important to look at daily stresses in your life to see what impact they are having on your health and mental wellbeing. If possible eliminate any unnecessary stresses and look to reduce others. If you work long hours in a stressful job, make sure you get enough sleep and take plenty of breaks. Mindfulness and meditation are great stress relieving techniques you can easily implement in your daily routine.

5. Acupuncture

Research shows that acupuncture has a positive impact on both male and female fertility. It improves the quality of eggs and sperm in the body, improves cycle regulation and hormonal function in women and decreases stress in the body to create a better internal environment to make a baby.
