I have always loved baking for family and friends, but it was only a few years ago that I started my own cake business. My career commenced as a Chemical Engineer working in the oil & gas industry. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel and I loved the practical aspect of the work. But even before my 2 daughters were born, I knew I wanted something more rewarding and ideally work that was fuelled by creativity.
I launched Sugar Plum Bakes 3 years ago and I specialise in creating bespoke cakes and biscuits for special occasions. I love being able to bring a client’s cake wish to life, all be it in sugar form. I am also very passionate about what goes into my cakes. The taste is incredibly important so I only use high quality ingredients, and certainly organic where possible.
Special occasion cakes are wonderfully indulgent. But for the day-to-day, as a mother and a wife, I am conscious of providing my family with healthy food. So I’m always developing recipes that are wholesome and nutritious and that can be considered a more healthy treat. I’m really looking forward to sharing some of these with you and I truly hope you enjoy preparing them for your loved ones.
